Volunteers Make a Difference
At the center of Madonna’s Center is unconditional LOVE, expressed by the generosity of others and through our caring, compassionate volunteers. We are always in need of more volunteers, because we are a volunteer-staffed organization.
Over 50 volunteers per year, collectively give at least 5000 volunteer hours, to serve teen parents and their lil’ tots.
A contribution of time is well-appreciated by teen parents and is also proving over time to be well-spent. This investment is showing increasingly positive outcomes, beyond belief and measure.
Help to make a difference in the lives of two young generations at a time, with your time!
Little Acts, Big Love
Sometimes, all it takes to make a BIG difference in the lives of teen parents and their young children is a little time spent, a little gesture of kindness, a little extra help or a little “gift” given- as Mother Teresa encouraged:
“Do small things with great love.”
Our volunteers offer invaluable and ongoing support by: answering the phone, sorting donations, referring teen parents to helpful resources, fulfilling requests for assistance, being an advocate, organizing the outreach office inventory, updating records, creating brochures, planning fundraising events, assembling bulk mailings, and visiting teen parents in need.
From the board of directors, to the outreach volunteers, to the office volunteers, to the fundraising volunteers and to all those that donate goods and services – a LOVING message is communicated to teen parents and their children. All of these “little acts” show them – we really do care!
Rural Outreach Volunteers Needed:
This is a great opportunity to do some good, just by going an “extra mile” or two per week. If you already commute to one of these areas – Canby, Wilsonville, Molalla, Estacada, Damascus, Sandy – please call 503-653-1595 for more information.
Excel/Access Experienced Volunteers:
We need some assistance converting several kinds of contact lists from an Excel spreadsheet format into and Access database. 1st and 3rd Wednesdays or periodic Fridays.
